Raphael Steil - getquin Co-Founder - How I invest

Who are you?

I was born in Luxembourg in 1992. At first, I took the classic path: "I want to conquer Wall Street" by completing an Economic Bachelor and a Finance Master. First I worked at BNP Paribas in the Private Bank, then I worked for about 4 years at Deutsche Bank in M&A in London. In between I also worked at BNP Paribas in the Private Bank. Since last winter I am now completely focused on getquin. So I never really got out of the world of finance :)

When did you start investing?

Actually, I have been interested in the stock market since my childhood, but I only started to invest in 2016. Unfortunately, due to my job I was only allowed to invest very little in shares and therefore I was very interested in ETFs. (I have also invested in P2P from time to time, but no comment please!).

What does your investment strategy look like?

Classic buy-and-hold with ETFs from the US and Europe mainly. This year I slowly started to shift to sustainable products.

Since I enjoy it, I hold about 20-30% of my investment in single stocks.

Do you have an insider tip or a favorite share?

Currently I am very happy about the development of Easyjet. Furthermore, I am waiting for a good ETF on alternative foods (e.g. including Beyond Meat and Oatly).
